Project 1: wood and rock (Picture galore!)
In this (and the next posts) I'm going to show you guys what we had to make for our course which called 'Beelding' roughly translated is it 'Imaging'
In project number 1 we had to transfer 2 rough materials to something smooth and make them fit with each other...
Why you ask? To get to know these materials, how they feel, how they work and how they can hurt your fingers if you misplace with your chisel...
The materials we got, were a Noir de Masy rock (it's a stone characteristic for Belgium) and a fire wooden beam from 20 cm. Oh forgot something... this is all done by HAND. The sanding and the chiseling and the sanding and the polishing and the sanding ...
So I transferred my rock from this
And my wood, from this

In total I think I spent around 22 hours on the rock... did I mention that I dropped it, 3 pieces broke off and I had to sand again... stupidest part, the rock was FINISHED! T_T
And about 10 hours on the wood thing.
We also had to take some pictures which made those little things seem large
This one is taken when laying on a skateboard ramp making sure that the edge of the ramp was at the same level as the edge of the ground from the square.
