Gift for a friend ^^

My best friend from high school has her birthday in November too.
And like last year, we held out party together ^^
She loves Japanese movies especially Ghibli ones.
This was a perfect idea for a gift for her.
I present to you, my version of a Totoro scene.

This is made with a black fabric gell-pen, which is really useful if you want to draw something detailed instead of a felt-tip pen.
I left it Black and White, 'cause I liked it better that way and I didn't have enough colours, teehee ;)
She loved it ^^ So I'm happy.

How to organize!

I'm starting a new series! yay ^^
Cause I'm always looking for cute and cheap ways to store my jewelery and other accessories,
I thought I'd share them with you. This series will be a wrap-up with everything I come across the internet on how to organize different things.
I'll try to include some for every one, cheap, diy, elegant, fun, ...
This won't have a specific day on when you can expect a post like my Photograph Fridays but I'll post one of these every 2 weeks.
I'm also calling out to you! My readers, yes you, I know you're there!
If you have made/found/stumbled upon a tutorial about organizing things and you would like me to feature it too, you can always mail me (see side-bar) or leave a comments (be sure to drop out the "http://" part or else my commentssystem thinks it's spam)
Hope you enjoy this series!

Nails of today

Yesterday evening, suddenly I had this itchy fingers to do something with my nails, so I did this really simple look.
As French stroke I used a pearl polish and I added glittery pink (Pink lady from Catrice, took me a while to found out the name ... it's not that readable anymore 'cause it's quite old, haha)

Without Flash

With flash

And yes, those are my real nails ^^ They are quite long now, I'm really proud of them ^^.

Bloggers Unite - November Challenge: week 3

Whats inside your handbag? You can tell alot about a person by what they carry around with them everyday, what's in yours and why?

First, I'll show you my winterpurse!
I got it from my mum for Christmas last year.
It reminds me of a sweater ^^

Jack Husky,
Jup, a doggy ^^

The inside.

And the stuff inside the purse.
'Cause I'm ... between my dorm and home, I leave my purse at home but I take the inside with me, so some things were lying on my dorm when I took this picture.

- Wallet
- decoed box with medicines
- mobile phone
- pen, pencil and eraser
- gum
- little mirror which I'm planning to deco
- box with cough drops
- deoroller
- a tissue-pouch (made by me)
- chap stick

Some things that aren't pictured but when I'm going somewhere I take them with me.
(you can see some of these here)
- a manga (to keep me busy when I'm on the way)
- my sketchbook (same as above ;) and yes I can draw in a bus/train/car ;) )
- my mp3
- a bottle of water
- sometimes a cookie or apple

What's in your purse/bag ?

Little craft haul

A few days ago we had to get my mum from the hospital, but we had to wait for 1 hour so
we went into town and I came across a craft store which had 40% of on almost everything.
This is what I bought:

A package of bells (I love anything that makes tiny noises)
Something to snooze (?) my pencil drawings.
6 Styrofoam balls to act as trees in my projects for school
2 strings of embroidery thread. (I don't do this but I'd love to learn to embroider)

1 pot of fabric paint: spring green
2 packages of barrettes to deco ^^^
another string of embroidery thread
1 package of white aquarel paint
1 package of jewelery findings (things to hold thread together)
2 packages of polymer clay.

That's it ;)
If I had more money, I had bought a lot more, teehee ...
I love looking through craft shops, I could spend hours ...

Halloween top

Ugh... it's raining in Belgium and I do not mean a few drops, I mean raining cats and dogs and god what else. Luckily our part isn't as bad as the rest of the country.
onto the topic of this post
When reading Exotic-Japan (check it out if you love Japan and/or photography!),
Tom made a post about a Halloween top that his wife Sakie bought from a Thai Designer.
I really liked it! So I thought, why not make it myself ^^
Here's the original one

and here's my version. It turned out a bit smaller.

I only had a white tshirt (which is a bit too big) available but I think I'm going to cut it into a top. That would be cuter.
At first I replaced the skulls with bows. (the trick is to draw your design in pencil first so you can see how it'd look like, but I mostly just draw right onto it ... oops)
But the bows didn't look that good so I did the skulls.
Maybe I'll add a bow to the top or to the skulls, what do you think?

Photograph Friday

Can you help me deciding which one is the nicest of the two last? The first with the blurry background or the second one with the clear background? I personally like the one with the blurry background the most, but my brother likes the other one, what do you think??
Another three pics from my biking trip from a few weeks back.

Birthday Presents ^^

Since I was on my dorm, my family couldn't give me my presents so I got them today ^^
(I'm already home 'cause today it's the 11th of November which is Armistice day and a holiday.)

Two kokeshi dolls, I love them and sort of want to collect them ^^ So I was very happy when I opened these!

But they are not just dolls ... One is a piggy bank (or rather a kokeshi bank) and the other one is a jewelery box

I got a trip to the beautysalon ^^ Hehe, my mum promised this to me long ago 'cause I had good grades.
It'll be for massages since I have a lot of stress these days. I can't wait (and I'm a bit scared too ^^;)

I also got a little gift bag with the card, a moisturizer and a scented candle, strawberry ^^

These gifts were from my mum ^^.
The newest cd from Bart Peeters, my favourite Dutch singer. This is from my brother.

Next up is a jewelery egg thingy from my dad. Love the blue vs gold and the image on there ^^

It contains a little bottle to put perfume in.

oh and
Congratulations Alyssa!!
