Hi! I had my singing lesson today (it was scheduled a week ago but they changed the date)
It went okay... I think. I was nervous though I didn't had to be. Now I'm waiting for points ^^
Next Saturday I have to go get my rapport and I get some new songs to practice during the vacation.
On craftster there are sign-ups to join the Glee swap, yup a swap all about the series Glee! I loved it and after a few looks at my schedule I joined! yay ^^
As for school, on Wednesday we have a jury for which we have to make 2 maquettes, 4 A1's with floor plans and renderings. I'm not halfway ... *sigh*
We also have to finish a paper for Monday (almost finished!) and an assignment too (alalalmost finished)
So on to working some more!
Sorry for not posting this a bit sooner but you know school and stuff...
I made this on a free evening in the beginning of May.
All are made with air drying clay, the same one I used for my first batch which you see here
Icecream! Colours made with acrylic paint
What you see here, is my horrible failure at a fortune cookie... *sob* The clay was too breakable and wouldn't stay together. I definetely need some good airdrying clay, but not just now.
I do like my donuts and cookies. Oh the thing on the left is another failure, it should look like a cherryblossom (sakura). And the thing on the right next to a donut is a bread thing XD.
These are coloured with pastels.
A donut, cookies, a chocolate piece and waffles. The blue things are a part of a liquorice like these. The white part has to be somewhere else...
A waffle, cookies and two cookies ready to make earrings from.
Donuts, my fail try at an American cookie, liquorice things to make earrings of and a clay rose. That rose was acutally a mistake I was trying to make a rolled up crepe X3.
It's a bit bluer than I thought... hope you can read it. If not, It says: "Be who you are and sway what you feel; because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" Something everyone should live by I think ^^
Also! I spotted another give-away! This time it's a giveaway for Japanese cosmetic goods! Check out Bang Bang she shoots for more information!
I did a little questioning on the right side about the music that's playing on my blog...
Most of you just voted "I click pause" so I thought what's the point of the music on my blog?
So I deleted it! I think it's a bit easier to use now, no looking for the pausebutton anymore ^^.
Although it makes me a bit sad, I think it's better this way since you guys didn't liked it very much,
if you did like it, I moved it to another place.
Wanna know where? Search! ^^
On another note, I won't be posting as regularly as I have... Exams and jury's and stuff are coming up.
They end on the 25th of June. So I will be back on that day!
Don't worry though, I do have some posts planned so I hope you can enjoy those! I'll also update a bit about my exams. Hope you have good exams too (if you are having them) if not, enjoy your time!
Now I'm off to do a groupproject. By!
The package got here on last Monday but I was at my dorm so wasn't able to open it.
On Friday I finally got to open it ^^. I LOVE everything!! yay ^^
And now I want to share the goodies with you! Well not the goodies, just pics of the goodies, they are all mine! muhahahaha XD The package:
And the bag which contained everything, love the flowers :D I think I'm going to use it for something!
First up, you know those white bag where you put your bra's and socks and stuff in so they don't get lost i travel or just to protect them, this is a Hello Kitty pink one!
All the keychains. The Hello Kitty and the Mamegoma one are already hanging on my cellphone. The Tori one is hanging on my keys. For the other ones I still have to find a spot ^^
The yellow pouch fits my digital camera perfectly, you know, I stuck it in there and wanted to take a picture from it... it took me a few seconds to realize that it would be very difficult to do that XD
Two pencils and two refill pencils.
A close-up of the refiller ones. Aren't those adorable!! And the one on the left IS a refill pencill, it really looks like a normal pencil, I have seen one like it. Really cool!
And all the paper thingies, 2 erasers, 2 Hello Kitty stickers, Hello Kitty origami paper, 2 clear folders and a little notebook which has found a spot in my purse.
And last but not least, 2 mini tote bags with Japanese traditional pattern and a furoshiki. My mum has claimed one of the bags for herself ^^
Thank you so much Thanh Thao! I had so much fun and look forward to other give-aways in the future and off course more of your blogposts! Everybody go read her blog 'cause it's lovely and interesting!
The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However, the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother. (source, 'cause I couldn't have said it better)
What do I think?
I normally watch more Japanese drama's but because this was at the top on dramacrazy and I wanted to take a little break from the Japanese ones I started watching You're Beautiful. What can I say... I LOVED the whole thing! The cast, the actors and the story!
This drama reminded me very much of Hana Yori Dango and Hana kimi. A combination of a girl who has to pretend she a guy and two people who love each other but don't admit it. Do you know the American Movie "She's the man?" Well, 'You're beautiful' takes that story to a higher level. The chemistry between Tae Kyung and Go Mi Nyu is great! I also really loved the supporting actors like Jeremy and Kang Shin Woo. They have great acting especially when *no spoilers!* Some of them are crazy like Go Mi nam's manager who's imagination takes lot's of weird loops sometimes :D. I LOVED the songs they used in the drama as main songs of A.N.jell (hence the 10 points for music) This drama made me tear up a couple of times and also made me scream in delight. I'm definitely recommending this one if you like comedy, singing and very cute guys! I'd love to re-watch this very soon!
In one sentence Pigrabbit!
Story: 9/10: not a 10 because the ending wasn't as satisfying as I would have liked.
I have got for you today... a ring! well actually a picture of a ring ^^. Made this one some time ago but thought I share it now since this was the first time I actually have worn it. Got a compliment too ^^.
I have some more laying around which still have to be put together. Ooh and those won't be for me... They are going to be sold... well I hope *teehee* Already one item for in my shop, which will open somewhere in July.
You like it?
Inspired for the title by this song.
Ooh also, don't forget to answer the question on the right about the music that's playing. I'd like to know what you think!
When I am typing this I am working on a groupproject for "Sketching class". We have to make a comic, I'll show you somewhere this week ^^. As for the haul, on Saturday I planned to take the bus to the post office to send of a package and request a search for another package (the supplies I bought from Sophie & Toffee) Mum said I'll take you and we'll do a little shopping after that. Luckily I didn't take the bus 'cause the Post Office was closed due to those holidays and I would have lost 2 hours walking around waiting for a bus ... So, I tried on a lot of things but these are the only things I bought. They are all from a brand called Transform 'something' can't read it on the tags when I zoom in in photoshop... Clothes are at home so can't check the name... ^^; First up, a pants, I really really needed a summer pants ... I have none except for jeans ones...
This is actually browner than you can see on the picture. It's a little more chocolate brown like the couch where it's laying on.
Next up, a summerdress, I really like the points on the bottom, looks like I'm wearing a scarf! haha
I plan on making a dress like this from a real scarf...
(sorry for the blurryness)
a close-up of the fabric
A skirt, I love skirts!! I have yet to show you one my mum made for me... maybe I'll do that this week, if I have time ^^
and a shirt, at first I didn't like it so much but when I tried it on, it looks good ^^ I love the details on top
Oooh! oooh! oooh! my brother just updated me with my mailservice... I have a package laying at home!!
It's from Germany!! so Thanh Thao, your package has arrived! Can't wait to open it when I arrive at home!
This is a clip that will always bring a huge smile on my face.
It's something that was done for a program on a Belgian television show. I just love the idea!
The reaction of the people is great! And I love how all kinds of people just start to join in.
You'll know what I mean if you watch it, so
Just watch! o(^-^o)(o^-^)o o(^-^o)(o^-^)o
The song playing, you must all know, is Do Re Mi from the Sound of Music.
It was actually for a program in which they were searching for the main actress for the Musical the Sound of Music in Belgium.
I cooked a lot of rice yesterday evening and had some chicken leftover so I decided to make myself a bento for today! The day didn't started off as I would have wanted... I woke up with a really bad headache and had to skip the first 2 hours of school. Gave me a catch-up on sleep though.
Anyway, here's my bento, this is the bottom half: rice and chicken
And the other half: veggies! I need to eat more veggies 'cause I want to live healthier so lot's of veggies in this bento ^^.
I had to take the bus home, which I found out when I called my mum, I assumed she was coming to get me by car but she had to work a whole day and the evening therefor I took the bus.
So when school finished (at 17:30) I had exactly 45 mins to pack my luggage and backpack and head of to the bus. I first take 1 bus than hop over onto another one which takes me to my city and then step onto another one which brings me to our part of the city. This takes 15 min + 45 min + 5 min. On top of that, I had to wait at the station for about 15 min with the bus standing in front of me but not leaving... hehe.
We have SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much to do for the next weeks I'm panicking a bit inside...
Even in the bus I was working for school. Here's the stuff I drew deciding how I should make my staircase and elevator in my project. I'm working on a social housing program thing for the course 'design' at school.
For every problem I solved I created another problem... sigh. Oh well! *Fighting!*
Happy mothersday!!! If you are a 'real' mother or someone who has a heart as big as a mum, I hope you had a lovely holiday today!
For a surprise for my mother (love you!) my brother and I decided to make her breakfast.
Pancakes in particular, and 'cause my mum said she loved the thick fluffy pancakes which she ate when she was on a trip somewhere. I decided to try out and make American pancakes. Here is the recipe I used.
My brother and I had a little quarrel 'cause we couldn't agree about whether a cup was 240ml or less. It seemed so much flour for so little fluid. Anyway, here's the result:
They weren't as fluffy as they should have been but my mum liked them so we were happy ^^.
I ate one and a half and my tummy already said: no more! haha I'm weak!
We had lots of batter left so I got a bit with me to bake at my dorm.
As other presents, my brother bought here a nice flowerpot with some plants in it.
I made her a necklace which I forgot to take a picture off so that has to be updated on Thursday when I get back home. (Thursday and Friday we have free days at our school because of the "Ascension of Jesus" day. Other countries having that too?)
Oh and the Squeal in the title... guess what! I won another giveaway!! I'm so lucky these days! yay!
This time at Thanh Thao's blog ! I am so happy! I can't believe it... like I told you before, I have never won anything! and now I win two things after each other! There must be an angle on my shoulder or something! teehee ^^ Check out her cute blog for sure!
I keep finding these lovely giveaways on different blogs out there... why are they all giving something away, I wonder? Is it because of the spring feeling ? anyway, here's a giveaway on A Sweet Lolita in Debt
where you can win not one, not two, ... but ten rings! I'm in I would say :D
Sabrina, my very lovely singingteacher, said today that my singing exam is going to be on the 22th of May.
Now I'm getting nervous!! The two songs I'm going to sing are 'Popular' from the musical Wicked and 'On my own' from Les Miserables (can you see the musical theme ^^ ).
Another song we were practicing today was 'Don't make me over'. And after the exam, no more singing lessons T_T. Makes me very said to think of it ... Next year I'm so going to join again ^^ I LOVE it! yay ^^
If you don't know the songs, here are they
Popular from Wicked by Kirsten Chenoweth
On my own from Les Miserables by Lea Salonga
And here's Don't make me over by Glee (I LOVE LOVE LOVE GLEE!, if you love singing too you should check out this series!)
This is taken on a morning when we had to explore an area where we had a new assignment to design a house. We were all freezing to death... But the sunshine did give a lovely sight.
That sign in the corner is something I'll explain later sometime. Just so you know, I'll put that on every picture I post on Photograph Friday.
I went to the city today 'cause I needed a busticket to get home (I left mine at home ^^; ) and to get a book my brother needed from the library.
I got those and after that, I decided I might as well do a little shopping ^^.
These are the little things I bought.
you can see some nailthingies, hair-elastics, a bracelet and a necklace and a juicethingie.
The bowbracelet and the necklace were on sale, both were 2 € (about 2,5 USD) I have wanted a golden necklace pendant like that for some time now. I'm really more a silver jewelery girl but I really like this one.
I also bought some things from Essence in the '"Kruidvat".
A nail polish correct, a click and colour one and nail and cuticle oil. I will review these somewhere next week.
One of these things, I think the oil, was 50% off.
And A shirt! I bought it at Coolcat. I really really really like bows! and initially I was thinking to just try it on and photograph it to remake it but I couldn't resist and bought it ^^
I do think I am going to copy this onto a few shirts of mine!
And these are things I bought in 5 minutes last week 'cause the store was about to close and my mum had a coupon.
A shirt, mum said: we'll take it, you don't need to try it on, it'll fit! ^^
yay for pink! You gotta know, when I was 12-16 I really hated pink... especially baby pink. After I came to really like hot pink and purple. I think I'm still in that phase ^^. Although I still don't like baby pink so much...
So what do you like to shop for? Clothing, jewelery, make-up, ... ? I really like shopping for crafty stuff ... teehee, more than clothing ... And I hate! buying shoes... I have really difficult feet so almost all the shoes I like don't fit or hurt if I have to walk some time... grmbl. But yay for shopping!
"Especially about Belgium and Dutch, but I have a question... why are there so many languages in Belgium? I know Kim Clijsters speaks Flemish, Justine Henin speaks French and there is Dutch... but it's such a small country! "
I'll do my best and try to explain!
First up, where the hell is Belgium?
Well here it is:
First up, there are three main languages spoken in Belgium.
Flemish or Dutch (I'll discuss that in a minute) in Flanders (orange), French in Wallonie (pink), German in a small part of Wallonie (green).
In Brussels, our capital, They speak French and Dutch.
Now, about the difference between Dutch and Flemish. In fact the're the same.
Dutch is the general name for our language. This is mainly spoken in The Netherlands and Belgium.
But! The language Belgians actually speak is a variation from Dutch, Belgian Dutch. We understand each other but some words have different meanings and we have own words too.
For example, 'tas' in Belgian Dutch means 'a bag' or 'a cup' but in Dutch from the Netherlands is only means 'cup'.
You could actually compare this to American English and British English. Some words are different, some meanings are different but you can understand each other right? That's the same with Dutch and Flemish. If you ask me what language I speak I will always say "Dutch", Not Flemish.
If I speak a dialect from our region, the German can understand me too. That's why I could probably understand Germans too, if they speak slowly.
About the question why there are so many languages spoken in Belgium, here come's the history,
In the beginning, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (a very small country) were known as the Low Countries (they sometimes still use that name to refer to these 3 countries, although it's now know as the BENELUX)
It's actually rather complicated so I'll try to be clear. There's been a war and the north part from the now known Belgium belonged to The Netherlands, the southern part belonged to France and an eastern part became part from Germany. until in 1830 the Belgium revolution came and made Belgium into what it is now.
In short you can say that Belgium has been under a lot of different rulers: France, Spain, Austria, The Netherlands,... That's why we speak different languages in such a small country ^^
*cough* Everybody still awake? (Actually I LOVE history, teehee)
I hope you understand... if not ask away
Why I love Belgium so much I'll explain in another post ^^.
Oh, would anyone be interest to learn some basic Dutch?
